John Toto, C.P.M  ISM-CT President

Welcome 2018!  ISM-CT is going to be 100 years old on March 21, 2018.  Imagine that!  100 years ago, 13 people decided to start this association probably never dreaming it would be around 100 years later.  Well, here we are and we are still going strong!

Things have changed since the beginning.  Back then, everything was done manually with no computers, internet or many women in the field.  Nowadays, we have split-second communications, quick decision making and both men and women in the field.  However, one thing has remained constant - the importance of NETWORKING with your colleagues.

Networking in an educational setting is the foremost way to be recognized by your peers and senior level people in organizations.  You are improving yourself by attending our events and meeting people in the same field but from different organizations.  Imagine the importance of that when you want to shift gears and move to another organization.   Membership in an association of Supply Management professionals is key to your success.  Check out our Networking events at:

It is time for those members who have students in high school or college to think about applying for the ISM-CT Richard Bradshaw memorial scholarship.  The application is due to our Scholarship Director, Carol Blake, by March 1, 2018.  You can read about it in the section of the newsletter or on our website at:

I look forward to seeing you at one of our events!

Yours in Supply Management,

John Toto, C.P.M.
