John Toto, C.P.M  ISM-CT President

Summer is here…..finally!  Late arrival in Connecticut this year, in case you haven’t noticed (yeah right!).

We have gotten this year’s ISM-CT calendar off to a good start.  We held our Awards and Installation banquet in June, with highlights being:

·       We filled a few open positions on the Board of Directors.  Many thanks to those who are volunteering for both return service and first time service.

·       We presented the 2018 Richard V. Bradshaw Memorial Scholarship to Tremaine Hall, a very impressive recipient who has graduated from Cooperative Arts & Humanities High School in New Haven and will be attending Georgia State University this fall.

·       We gave the President’s Award to Bob Sember, an individual with a very long record of service to ISM-CT (and before that, to CAPM).  Bob is under consideration for this award every year.  Our success is attributable to his efforts in many areas.

Our Education & Training Committee is getting ready to plan the calendar for programs to be offered.  We are always open to any input from members for workshop and seminar ideas, e.g. topics, presenters, locations, etc.  Please feel free to provide any such ideas to us via:

·       The “Contact Us” section of our website:

·       Email to our Director of Education & Training, Anna Kuznia-Hryn:

Our Membership Committee, led by Membership Director Mary Cassidy, is preparing for recruiting of new members, including what we hope will be a bolstering of our ranks with members from the former ISM-7 Counties affiliate.  If you have questions about, interest in or ideas about membership, please send via:

·       The “Contact Us” section of our website:

·       Email to our Director of Membership, Mary Cassidy:

Also, my colleague, Kieran Dunn, is our new Director of the Emerging Professionals Group.  Kieran has excellent ideas for promoting the organization with focus on current and potential members who are in the earlier stages of their Supply Management careers.  Stay posted to our website for more information in the coming weeks.  I will also be sure to provide this information in my next President’s Letter, as well.

I look forward to seeing you at one of our events!

Yours in Supply Management,

John Toto, C.P.M.
