"Influencing Competency/Change Management"

The procurement profession has evolved to a critical function in many organizations based on its ability to deliver cost and value improvement.  One of the keys to success for procurement leaders is the ability to collaborate both externally and internally across the company and supply chain. Using influencing, communication and relationship skills is necessary to be effective in a procurement role. Participants taking this seminar will learn how to engage stakeholders, build consensus, build stakeholder maps, improved compliance, and be seen as a trusted advisor. The seminar will also focus on mapping supplier relationships collaborating to drive cost and value improvement, business alignment and business integration using collaboration, influence, and relationship skills


Speaker Information:

Bill Michels, FCIPS

Bill Michels is the Vice President of Operations, Americas for the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS). He is a recognized expert in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management.

Bill has worked in procurement across a wide spectrum of industries and countries transforming Procurement and the Supply Chain. Until recently, Bill was the CEO and founder of Aripart Consulting after more than 23 years at ADR North America. Under his leadership, ADR North America became a leading niche specialty consulting firm and has won several recognitions and awards.

Bill is a sought-after speaker and writer with many publications, including co-authorship of the book "Transform Your Supply Chain" and numerous published articles. He is now working on a new book focused on supplier relationship management. Bill has a B.S. in Business Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology and an MBA from Baldwin Wallace University. He is a CIPS Fellow (FCIPS) and has CPSM and C.P.M. certifications. He is on the Board of Directors of the Joe Niekro Foundation, Editorial Board of Advisors for Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine and Advisory Board of Palambridge.
