Category Management – The Power to Lead

True category management is not just understanding market place offerings. It is being able to effect change within your organization and to help the team reduce costs and improve efficiencies.

It all starts with Data Transformation. We will discuss the metamorphosis of data to business knowledge that drives results.

Once we are prepared with the data, we can create our set of Opportunity Hypotheses around a specific area in our category that can lead to a win and positive attitudes about our contribution.

Once we have our set of hypotheses, we will then assess the Stratification of Change in order to prioritize goals with and from our management, internal clients and sometimes with the suppliers.

When we are ready to start the first project, we must clearly have a Change Management program outline and must agree to keep communications clear and purposeful.

Lastly, we must have our Measures of Success to insure that what is done will have the intended effect.

This class will review the needed steps to build a successful Category Management Plan and discuss the Levers and Influencers that need to be considered. We will discuss case studies of successful implementations from leading corporations.
